A B O U T
.
Stefanie Schwarz is a communication designer
with a focus on typography and type design.
She studied in Germany and the U.S. before
completing her M.A. at Central Saint Martins,
University of the Arts London.
Now she works as a designer in Stuttgart and
is a lecturer at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden
Künste Stuttgart.
Stefanie is co-founder and director of the
typographic research lab open2type.
2019—2022 she has been professor of typography
and type design at Bauhaus Universität Weimar.
Her typefaces have been released by FontFont
(Berlin), Indian Type Foundry (Ahmedabad),
Sudtipos (Buenos Aires) and T26 (Chicago).
Her work has received numerous international awards
and has been on display at group exhibitions
in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom,
Switzerland, France, Austria, Italy and Japan.
